About TinyLabs
Leslie Luis, founder of TinyLabs, has one philosophy – to bring affordable, hands-on science programs to the young minds in Edmonton’s communities! TinyLabs brings students and science together in a creative environment, helping those future scientists learn about the world around them through live demonstrations and hands-on experiments.
Leslie’s work with children started with working as a Program Instructor at the Telus World of Science. She was involved in six different science camps over the span of three summers with the centre. She has taught English in Thailand and volunteered with children in Guatemala. She has a wealth of knowledge gained from her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and her Bachelor of Environmental Management from Lakeland College. After working in industry and traveling, she decided to return to university and complete her Bachelor of Education.
Leslie spent the six years teaching abroad – two years in Guadalajara, Mexico and four years in Muscat, Oman. Both those school were Canadian International Schools with Alberta curriculum. She returned August 2019, and joined the Edmonton Catholic School district.
Leslie is a certified teacher with a background in science education looking forward to working in small group settings and being able to give students the attention they need.
